Telecom Design Specialist- FTTH network planning
Job Responsibilities
Design end-to-end FTTH networks, including fiber routes, splitters, cabinets, and termination points.
Develop and optimize network architecture using GPON, XGSPON, or related technologies.
Utilize GIS tools to create and update detailed network maps and as-built documentation.
Conduct desktop and on-site surveys to assess project viability and infrastructure requirements.
Evaluate existing infrastructure for integration into the FTTH network.
Manage Design Output and ensure it meets the required standard in terms of quality and time
Create and validate HLD/LLD with partners or directly using GIS tools
Work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and stakeholders to align designs with project objectives.
Liaise with external contractors and vendors to ensure smooth execution of network deployment.
Ensure all designs meet local regulations and client specifications.
Incorporate environmental and safety considerations into the design process.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience in FTTH design will also be considered.
Experience Requirements
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of Openreach PIA processes, procedures and accreditation requirements
Proficiency in GIS and design tools such as QGIS, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of FTTH architecture and deployment models (e.g., Point-to-Multipoint, GPON).
Knowledge of fiber splicing, routing, and passive optical network (PON) components.
Familiarity with field survey tools and practices.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
